Softball Recap: Unionville-Sebewaing's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Unionville-Sebewaing dropped their record down to 13-11 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They lost 12-2 to the Millington Cardinals. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Patriots have suffered since April 19th.

Morgan Armbruster was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

As for Millington, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-7. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

On Millington's side, Morgan Matusik made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Matusik was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Millington got a massive performance out of Ashlyn Bentoski, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Bentoski has posted since back in April. Kamyrn Blackmer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Unionville-Sebewaing will square off against Midland at 4:00 p.m. on the 28th. As for Millington, they will welcome Vassar at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
