Basketball Recap: Brooklynn King's Big Game Can't Quite Lead West Forsyth over Parkland

West Forsyth was the 76-43 winner over Parkland when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The West Forsyth Titans fell to the Parkland Mustangs 43-38. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

West Forsyth lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brooklynn King, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. King is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabel Gil, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 13 points.

Even though they lost, West Forsyth smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Parkland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kimora Brooks, who went 5 of 8 en route to 16 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jordan Fisher, who posted ten points along with eight steals and five boards.

West Forsyth's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Parkland, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.

West Forsyth will host Glenn at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Forsyth is facing Glenn at the right time seeing as Glenn is stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Parkland, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-45 win against East Davidson on the 27th.
