Basketball Recap: Stone Mountain Comes Up Short

Stone Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They fell 43-32 to the Riverdale Raiders. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 43-35 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Stone Mountain lost, don't look at Makayla Wilson. Despite the final result, she posted 25 points. That was a full 78.1% of Stone Mountain's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Stone Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Riverdale, their victory ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-18.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing North Clayton the next time they take the court. Stone Mountain will head out to face North Clayton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Riverdale will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th.
