Baseball Recap: Palo Alto Drops Season-High Score on Carlmont

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Palo Alto). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 15-13 victory over the Carlmont Scots on Saturday. With that win, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Palo Alto got a massive performance out of Isaiah Walker, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave Walker a new career-high. Dexter Cleveringa also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Palo Alto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Palo Alto has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Carlmont, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Looking ahead, Palo Alto will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Archbishop Riordan at 12:00 p.m. As for Carlmont, they will face off against Bellarmine College Prep at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
