Baseball Game Preview: Ocean Springs Greyhounds vs. George County Rebels

The Ocean Springs Greyhounds will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the George County Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ocean Springs' pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Purvis.

Ocean Springs got a great performance from Ryan Lemaire as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lucas Sinopli, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Clower, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, George County entered their tilt with Ocean Springs on Monday with five consecutive wins dating back to last season but they'll enter their next game with six. They were the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over the Greyhounds. Eight seems to be a good number for the Rebels as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Preston McAdory tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in hits (zero).

At the plate, Cayler Havard was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Blane Green, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

George County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ocean Springs only posted a batting average of .200.

George County's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Ocean Springs, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
