Volleyball Preview: Dexter Demons vs. Tularosa Wildcats
Dexter and Tularosa are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2016, but not for long. The Dexter Demons are taking a road trip to square off against the Tularosa Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dexter is looking to tack on another W to their nine-game streak on the road.
Last Tuesday, Dexter beat New Mexico Military Institute 3-1.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-18, 23-25, 25-23.
Dexter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alexa Miramontes out in front who had 17 kills and a block. Miramontes is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in the last 34 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Delarosa, who had three kills, three aces, and a block.
Meanwhile, Tularosa lost 3-0 to Ruidoso on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wildcats have suffered against the Warriors since September 12, 2017.
The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-7, 25-14.
Dexter's win bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Tularosa, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
