Football Recap: Dutch Fork Falls Short Against Ranked Oceanside Collegiate Academy

Dutch Fork faced Oceanside Collegiate Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Silver Foxes fell 24-20 to the Landsharks. The Silver Foxes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Landsharks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Despite the loss, Dutch Fork still got an impressive performance from Braydon Johnson, who picked up 73 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one TD on the ground.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oceanside Collegiate Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aiden Manavian, who threw for 285 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt. The Landsharks' leading receiver Terence Johnson was Manavian's top target yet again, picking up 111 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Having lost for the first time this season, Dutch Fork fell to 3-1. As for Oceanside Collegiate Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Dutch Fork will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chapin at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. The Silver Foxes will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Oceanside Collegiate Academy, they will take on Atlantic Collegiate Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Landsharks will be up against the Armada's rather soft defense (which has allowed 30 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
