Softball Recap: Christian Comes Up Short

If Christian was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Patrick Henry last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots fell just short of the Scripps Ranch Falcons by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Christian got a good showing from Ava Barrios, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Barrios gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in June of 2025.

Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13-1 record this season. As for Scripps Ranch, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10-1 record this season.

Christian will welcome Cathedral Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Scripps Ranch, they will square off against Point Loma at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pointers' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
