Basketball Recap: Burns Takes a Loss

Burns was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They were dealt an 86-14 loss at the hands of the Douglas Bearcats. The game marked the Broncs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Shanessa Eklund was Burns' leading scorer, having posted five points.

Lauren Olsen was her usual excellent self, going 12 of 17 en route to 31 points and five steals for Douglas. The match was Olsen's 32nd in a row with at least ten points. Jaden Meyer was another key player, going 7 for 15 on her way to 16 points and eight steals.

Burns' defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Douglas, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.

Burns will square off against Pine Bluffs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pine Bluffs will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Burns surely won't give up without a fight. As for Douglas, they will head out to face off against Rawlins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
