Volleyball Recap: Richfield Takes a Loss

Richfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Pine View Panthers. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2021.

While Richfield ultimately came up short, they really made Pine View work, particularly in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-21, 16-25, 27-25.

Among those leading the charge was Genevieve Evans, who had eight digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Richfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Pine View, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richfield will square off against Carbon at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pine View, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Snow Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on September 9.
