Baseball Recap: Leo Comes Up Short

Leo extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping them down to 4-19. They came up short against the De La Salle Meteors, falling 13-0. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 10-1 to the Meteors when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for De La Salle, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games.

For De La Salle's part, the result came thanks to Vincente Amaro's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up six Ks. Amaro has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Beckett Hulten was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aarion Gould, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

While Leo had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
