Baseball Recap: Leilehua Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Leilehua had to endure a five-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Waipahu Marauders a 3-0 shutout on Saturday. This was payback for the Mighty Mules, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

The result came thanks to Tanner Tammarine's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Leilehua's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hurley Awana, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. Titan Pasco was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Leilehua was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Waipahu only posted a batting average of .125.

The win got Leilehua back to even at 1-1. As for Waipahu, their record is now 0-2.
