Baseball Recap: West Ottawa Has No Trouble Against East Kentwood

West Ottawa won the last time they faced East Kentwood and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Panthers were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Falcons.

Collin Roelofs spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on zero hits and racked up six Ks. He is becoming a predictor of West Ottawa's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 3-1 (and 4-7 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Abel Anaya was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Dylan Vruggink was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

West Ottawa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

West Ottawa's record now sits at 7-8. As for East Kentwood, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

West Ottawa will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair will be back at it again later today.
