Ferndale extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Tanner Pidgeon. The Wildcats breezed past the Hoopa Valley Warriors to the tune of 73-0 on Friday with plenty of help from Pidgeon, who rushed for 66 yards and three TDs on only eight carries, and also threw for 181 yards and three touchdowns. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making eight total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.
Prescott Langer was another major influence, as he rushed for 17 yards and ran in a TD. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Ferndale, racking up 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Liam Bishop, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Ferndale didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Adrian Lopez and Pidgeon. Pidgeon got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Ferndale's record is now 5-0. As for Hoopa Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
