Recap: Philip Scotties vs. Lyman Raiders
The Philip Scotties lost against the Lyman Raiders back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Philip received a tough blow as they fell 51-33 to Lyman. While losing is never fun, Philip can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Lyman is ranked 25th).
Several Scotties players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Drew Terkildsen, who scored six points along with four steals. Terkildsen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Josie Jones was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Philip's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Lyman, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-2.
Philip didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-50 win vs. Potter County co-op [Gettysburg/Hoven] on the 9th. Lyman has also already played their next matchup, a 65-46 loss against Flandreau on the 9th.
