MaxPreps Top 25 high school football scores: McCallie defeats No. 6 Mission Viejo 25-14

Waxahachie tops No. 10 Duncanville 28-27 in Texas sized upset.

McCallie (Chattanooga, Tenn.) defeated No. 6 Mission Viejo (Calif.) 25-14. Up 10-7, the Blue Tornado scored two straight second half touchdowns to put the game away.

Mission Viejo arrived in Tennessee with a 4-0 record with wins over No. 9 Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita)Folsom and Lincoln (San Diego).

McCallie (4-1) senior running back Kris Lloyd scored two rushing touchdowns for the No. 4 team in Tennessee.

Blue Tornado senior quarterback Elliott Drapeau picked apart the Mission Viejo defense and threw a touchdown midway through the fourth quarter to senior Keeyshawn Tabuteau, who had a 50-yard catch in the first half.



Waxahachie (Texas) upset No. 10 Duncanville (Texas) 28-27 on Friday after trailing by three possessions.

The Indians used a kickoff return score from Jordan Smith, a touchdown pass from Jerry Meyer III and then a 1-yard plunge into the end zone by Nolan Barnard to complete the comeback win.

Lone Peak (Highland, Utah) knocked off No. 15 Corner Canyon (Draper, Utah) 42-21 in a rematch of the 2024 state championship.

Four-star senior wide receiver Jaron Pula had three touchdown receptions for Lone Peak, all in the first half. 

His brother Kennan Pula caught the fourth touchdown throw from quarterback Cruz Christensen with under a minute to play in the first half. 

Christensen and junior running back Sean Tahi added fourth quarter touchdown runs to seal the win. 



One week after losing for the first time since 2023, No. 8 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) went on the road and took down No. 2 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas.) 27-24.

The game went down to the wire as Mater Dei made a fourth down stop with one minute left to seal the victory.

Mater Dei scored the go-ahead touchdown when Ryan Hopkins found five-star Chris Henry Jr. for a touchdown.

Hopkins had three touchdowns with five-star tight end Mark Bowman hauling in two of them.

Bishop Gorman quarterback Maika Eugenio threw two touchdowns and ran for another while five-star safety Jett Washington had an interception for the Gaels. 

No. 5 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) defeated Mandarin (Jacksonville, Fla.) 57-7 in a matchup of undefeated teams. 



Five-star sophomore quarterback Jayden Wade rushed for a touchdown and threw for two more, one of which went to Eric McFarland, a five-star in the class of 2028. 

No. 18 Southlake Carroll (Southlake, Texas) cruises to 4-0 after a 44-6 victory over Trinity (Euless, Texas). Quarterback Angelo Renda passed for three touchdowns and ran for two more. The Dragons have won 19 of their last 20 games. 

No. 1 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) won 49-20 over Saint Louis (Honolulu, Hawaii) in the first week since taking over the top spot in the MaxPreps Top 25 rankings. The Braves scored multiple times on defense as Ethan Coach returned a fumble and JaShaun Shaffer took an in interception in for touchdowns. Offensively four-star seniors Madden Williams and Daniel Odom each had receiving touchdowns. 

Rockwall (Texas) handed No. 22 North Crowley (Fort Worth, Texas) its first regular season loss since 2021 with a 37-35 victory. Brent Rickert connected with Ryan Wiley for the go-ahead score from 20 yards out to take a 37-35 lead in the final minute to snap the defending 6A Division 1 state champs 19-game win streak.

No. 13 Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.) closed out non-league action with a dominant 42-9 win over Orange Lutheran (Orange, Calif.). The Trailblazers have outscored their first five opponents, 233-16.
