Football Recap: Immanuel Christian Skates Past Desert with Ease

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Immanuel Christian on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Desert Scorpions out of the water with a 78-18 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-12.

Immanuel Christian was led to victory by Romelle Harris and Mazyn Weaver. Harris gained 277 total yards and five touchdowns, while Weaver rushed for 104 yards and three scores on only eight carries. Harris also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making seven total tackles and defending three passes.

Immanuel Christian has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 24 points this season. As for Desert, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Immanuel Christian will square off against Mojave at 7:30 p.m. on the 6th. This will be the Crusaders' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Desert, they will challenge Trona at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
