Basketball Recap: Lakota Tech Falls Short Against Ranked Rapid City Christian

On Friday, Lakota Tech faced Rapid City Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Lakota Tech Tatanka were outmatched by the Rapid City Christian Comets and fell 76-46. The Tatanka lost against the Comets in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 58-55 score last time.

Lakota Tech's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominic Johnson, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Jake Catches, who put up nine points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lakota Tech fell to 3-1. As for Rapid City Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Lakota Tech didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-23 defeat against Custer on the 21st. Rapid City Christian has also already played their next contest, a 79-62 victory against Pine Ridge on the 21st.
