Softball Game Preview: Sandusky Blue Streaks vs. Bellevue Redmen

The Sandusky Blue Streaks will challenge the Bellevue Redmen at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Norwalk hit Sandusky with a eight-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Streaks came up short against the Truckers, falling 13-3. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Streaks in their meetings with the Truckers: they've now lost four in a row.

Sandusky saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Akiyla Jones, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Bellevue lost 15-5 to Shelby on Monday.

Payton Hicks made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Sandusky's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Bellevue, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Sandusky was able to grind out a solid win over Bellevue when the teams last played back in April, winning 9-6. Will the Blue Streaks repeat their success, or do the Redmen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
