Volleyball Recap: Langston Hughes Comes Up Short

Langston Hughes lost against Northgate back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers fell 2-0 to the Vikings. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-4.

Langston Hughes' offense was headlined by Zoey Pierre and Kaylen Dowell, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Chamarie Lisbon and her nine assists. Finally, Pierre was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Langston Hughes' loss dropped their record down to 9-21. As for Northgate, with the win, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 15-21.

Looking ahead, Langston Hughes will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Cristo Rey Atlanta at 5:00 p.m. As for Northgate, they will head out to challenge Trinity Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
