Recap: Wilson Bulldogs vs. J.P. McCaskey Red Tornado
The Wilson Bulldogs had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 47-20 win over J.P. McCaskey. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-6.
Leading Wilson to victory were Tommy Hunsicker and Correll Akings. Hunsicker threw for 173 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes, while Akings gained 153 total yards and three touchdowns. Edison Case did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 86 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Wilson's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points per game. As for J.P. McCaskey, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
Wilson will look to defend their home field on Friday against Manheim Township at 7:00 p.m. Manheim Township knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully Wilson likes a good challenge. As for J.P. McCaskey, they will head out on the road to face off against Penn Manor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Penn Manor is ranked 265th, while J.P. McCaskey is ranked 288th).
