Soccer Game Preview: Sacred Heart vs. South Jones

The Sacred Heart Crusaders will head out to face off against the South Jones Braves at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Sacred Heart is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Biloxi on Tuesday. Neither the Crusaders nor the Indians could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Sacred Heart's goal came courtesy of Sam McKee, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, South Jones hadn't done well against West Jones recently (they were 0-7-2 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Braves never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with a 1-0 win.

South Jones' victory bumped their record up to 2-4. Sacred Heart's draw gives them a new season record of 3-3-1.

Sacred Heart came out on top in a nail-biter against South Jones when the teams last played back in November of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
