Volleyball Recap: Wasatch Academy Comes Up Short

Wasatch Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Vanguard Academy Knights.

Wasatch Academy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Vanguard Academy work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-18, 25-14.

Vanguard Academy found their leader in sophomore Locklynne Mattingly, who had 17 digs and one assist. Those 17 digs set a new season-high mark for Mattingly.

Wasatch Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Vanguard Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7.

Coming up, Wasatch Academy will challenge Carbon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dinos will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Vanguard Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Dugway on the 7th.
