Basketball Recap: Anthem Prep Find Success

If Desert Heights Prep wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Anthem Prep, they should've done a better job of containing Madi Hatfield. The Anthem Prep Eagles took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 37-3 victory over the Desert Heights Prep Yote thanks in part to Hatfield, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Anthem Prep's points.

Another player making a difference was Lily Kabler, who posted six points and five steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2023.

Anthem Prep now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Desert Heights Prep, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Anthem Prep will look to defend their home court on Monday against Red Rock at 7:00 p.m. Anthem Prep is facing Red Rock at the right time seeing as Red Rock is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Desert Heights Prep, they and North Phoenix Preparatory Academy will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. North Phoenix Preparatory Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Desert Heights Prep surely won't give up without a fight.
