Westerly faced Smithfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Sunday. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Sentinels by a score of 6-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Sentinels: they've now lost six in a row.

Chase Collins was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Grayson Simmons made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
