Basketball Recap: Philip Barbour Takes a Loss

Philip Barbour was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 68-53 to the North Marion Huskies. The Colts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

North Marion found their leader in sophomore Connor Balwanz, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 20 points along with eight assists and six boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Balwanz has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Batson, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Philip Barbour's record is now 2-10. As for North Marion, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-8.

Philip Barbour has already played their next matchup (against Moorefield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for North Marion, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-41 win against Weir on the 8th.
