Basketball Recap: Adams Central Triumphs

Adams Central won the last time they faced Wood River and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Adams Central Patriots walked away with a 64-54 victory over the Wood River Eagles.

Lainey Paulk and Sidney Frear certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Paulk went 6 of 7from beyond the arc on her way to 21 points and eight rebounds, while Frear dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. That's the most boards Paulk has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Courtney Dimmitt, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Adams Central's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Wood River, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Adams Central will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Gothenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wood River, they will square off against St. Paul at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
