Football Recap: Gibbon Buffaloes vs. Cross County Cougars

Gibbon's last matchup with Cross County could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Buffaloes were beaten by the Cougars 46-7. The Buffaloes lost against the Cougars in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 16-14 score last time.

Adan Tamayo threw for 34 yards. Riley Bergstrom was his top target, picking up 34 receiving yards.

Tyion Francis had a dynamite game For Cross County., rushing for 174 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Those 174 rushing yards gave Francis a new career-high. Sawyer Anderson was another key player, rushing for 74 yards and one score.

Gibbon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Cross County, their record now sits at 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gibbon will challenge Valentine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cross County, they will take on Superior at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
