Basketball Recap: Liam Leahy and Brayden Healey Secure Win for Toll Gate

Toll Gate won the last time they faced Achievement First Providence and things went their way on Saturday too. It was close, but the Toll Gate Titans capped 2024 with a 43-41 victory over the Achievement First Providence Falcons. The 43-point effort marked the Titans' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Leading Toll Gate to victory were Brayden Healey and Liam Leahy. Healey almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards, while Leahy posted nine points and five rebounds. That's the most boards Leahy has posted since back in December of 2023.

Achievement First Providence's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fred Browne, who put up 11 points. Another player making a difference was Stephen Adedire, who had nine points.

Toll Gate's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Achievement First Providence, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Toll Gate didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-54 defeat against Ponaganset on the 30th. As for Achievement First Providence, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-53 loss against North Smithfield on the 30th.
