Softball Recap: Lowcountry Leadership NaviGators vs. Timberland Wolves
Lowcountry Leadership dropped their record down to 8-6 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the Timberland Wolves, falling 17-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 back in April.
As for Timberland, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. Considering they have won eight contests by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
For Timberland's part, Lainey Nichols made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Nichols was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Sellars, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kylee Moody, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
As of now, neither Lowcountry Leadership nor Timberland have any future games scheduled.
