Basketball Game Preview: Riverside Warriors vs. Gaffney Indians

Riverside has won five straight games at home, while Gaffney has won five straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Riverside Warriors will host the Gaffney Indians at 6:00 p.m. Riverside knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Gaffney likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Riverside blew past Boiling Springs, posting a 69-39 victory. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 136th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Gaffney beat Spartanburg 54-48 on Tuesday.

Gaffney's win bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Riverside, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.

Things could have been worse for Riverside, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 64-45 loss to Gaffney when the teams last played back in January of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Gaffney's Shiriah Harris, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
