Baseball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

Franklin was the 3-0 winner over Summit when they last played one another last Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Admirals fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday.

Franklin got a good showing from Adley Clark, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Clark has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Andrew Dixon was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double was his first of the season.

Franklin has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Summit, they pushed their record up to 13-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

While Franklin had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
