Basketball Recap: Valor College Prep's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Valor College Prep waltzed into their match on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They blew past the Glencliff Colts 60-17. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Valor College Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kobe Cotton, who went 7-for-11 on her way to 15 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Cotton is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least five every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tamiya McClain, who posted 14 points and six steals.

Valor College Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Valor College Prep pushed their record up to 21-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.8 points over those games. As for Glencliff, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Coming up, Valor College Prep will host Merrol Hyde Magnet at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Valor College Prep's defense has only allowed 26.8 points per game this season, so Merrol Hyde Magnet's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Glencliff, they are taking a road trip to square off against Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
