Basketball Recap: Woodward Takes a Loss

Woodward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Scott Bulldogs. The Polar Bears lost against the Bulldogs in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 51-15 score last time.

Woodward's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Scott, they moved to 4-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Woodward didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-32 loss against Africentric Early College on the 11th. As for Scott, they will take on Clyde at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clyde knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matches -- so hopefully Scott likes a good challenge.
