Jefferson County and Sevier County are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Patriots are taking a road trip to face off against the Smoky Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jefferson County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Last Monday, Jefferson County had just enough and edged out Morristown-Hamblen West 2-1. That's two games straight that Jefferson County have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sevier County). They blew past Loudon 6-2 on Tuesday. Sevier County might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by three goals or more this season.

Sevier County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those six contests. As for Jefferson County, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5-1.

Jefferson County came out on top in a nail-biter against Sevier County in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
