Football Game Preview: Gainesville Red Elephants vs. Rome Wolves + How To Watch

The Gainesville Red Elephants will take on the Rome Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Gainesville comes in on three and Rome on 11.

Gainesville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 40-32 victory over Langston Hughes. The Red Elephants pushed the score to 37-16 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.

KHARIM HUGHLEY was his usual excellent self, throwing for 141 yards and four touchdowns.

Jackson County typically has all the answers at home, but last Friday Rome proved too difficult a challenge. They enjoyed a cozy 31-17 win over the Panthers. The score was all tied up 17-17 at the break, but the Wolves were the (much) better team in the second half.

Gainesville better keep an eye on Aidan McPherson. He was instrumental in Rome's win, rushing for 79 yards and a pair of TDs, while also throwing for 222 yards and one touchdown. What's more, McPherson posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August. 107 of McPherson's passing yards were hauled in by Darnell Collins, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Gainesville's record now sits at 11-2. As for Rome, their record is now an identical 11-2.
