Soccer Game Preview: Mohawk Area vs. Avonworth

Mohawk Area is 0-7 against Avonworth since October of 2018 but things could change on Saturday. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Antelopes at 11:00 a.m. Mohawk Area has given up an average of 8.4 goals per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mohawk Area came up short against Beaver on Wednesday, falling 11-1. While losing is never fun, Mohawk Area can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 513th, while Beaver are ranked 129th).

Meanwhile, Avonworth hasn't lost a match since August 28th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. They and Quaker Valley finished up their match with a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked Avonworth's first draw of the season.

With that draw, Avonworth's record moves to 9-1-1. As for Mohawk Area, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.
