Volleyball Recap: Antwerp Comes Up Short

Antwerp extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Monday, dropping them down to 0-2. They lost 3-0 to the Kalida Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Archers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

As for Kalida, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 21, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Sophie Vorst was nothing short of spectacular: she had 16 digs and three aces. Those 16 digs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabel Recker, who had 21 assists and six kills.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Antwerp will venture away from home to challenge Ottoville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kalida, they will head out to face off against Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
