Baseball Recap: Millburn Takes a Loss

If Millburn was feeling good fresh off their 8-1 takedown of Payne Tech on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Millers fell 14-10 to the Wayne Hills Patriots on Friday. The Millers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Greg Rosenthal was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Millburn is 2-1 when Rosenthal posts three or more RBI, but 10-13 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Keigo Fujita, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Millburn has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season. As for Wayne Hills, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-9.

Millburn didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-4 defeat against Rutgers Prep on the 24th. Wayne Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
