Recap: Norland Vikings vs. Monsignor Pace Spartans

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Norland Vikings had no problem doing just that on Thursday. Everything went their way against Monsignor Pace as Norland made off with a 52-27 win. The win was just business as usual for Norland, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.

Ennio Yapoor was a one-man wrecking crew for Norland as he threw for 428 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Yapoor has been hot recently, having posted 300 or more passing yards the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Scott, who picked up 166 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Norland pushed their record up to 12-0 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 10-2 Columbus and 9-3 Booker T. Washington (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 58.4% over those games). As for Monsignor Pace, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.

Norland will play host again and welcome Central, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on November 24th. Central is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Monsignor Pace does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
