Basketball Recap: Dani James' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Beech over Mount Juliet

After flying high against Hendersonville last Friday, Beech came back down to earth. The Beech Buccaneers fell 55-46 to the Mount Juliet Golden Bears on Tuesday. The Buccaneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Several Buccaneers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dani James, who posted 16 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave James a new career-high in blocks (two). Tia Nix was another key player, putting up nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Beech's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Mount Juliet, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-10.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Gallatin the next time they take the court. Mount Juliet will host Gallatin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Beech will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th.
