Baseball Game Preview: Dixon Dukes & Duchesses vs. North Boone Vikings

For the second straight game, Dixon will face off against North Boone. The Dukes & Duchesses will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dixon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Dixon is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against North Boone on Monday. They fell 5-2 to the Vikings.

Dixon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Whelan, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

North Boone pushed their record up to 21-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Dixon, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.
