Putnam City can bid farewell to their 15-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Eisenhower Eagles 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Eagles on Friday, they had to take a 10-7 loss.

Connor Fast spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Putnam City's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Bennett, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Putnam City's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-12 and their overall record up to 3-27. As for Eisenhower, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-17.

Putnam City will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
