Recap: Delhi Hawks vs. Waterford Wildcats
It was a good run, but the Delhi Hawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to Waterford. Delhi was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Waterford apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played on January 3rd.
Waterford was led to victory by Christian Gayle and Izaiah Sanchez. Gayle scored 11 points, while Sanchez scored 13 points.
Delhi's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Waterford, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Delhi will take on Mariposa County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Waterford, they will be playing at home against Orestimba at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Orestimba knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 contests -- so hopefully Waterford likes a good challenge.
