Baseball Recap: Wagoner Takes a Loss

Wagoner managed to slip by Grove the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bulldogs came up short against the Ridgerunners on Monday, falling 14-4.

Wagoner saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Hopping, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Wagoner has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Grove, their win bumped their record up to 17-4.

While Wagoner had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
