Softball Recap: Centennial Eagles vs. Atholton Raiders
Centennial lost to Atholton back in April and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Eagles fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 8-6.
Audray Zheng put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off four hits. Zheng was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Maddie Reese made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. Layla Schroyer was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Centennial has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Atholton, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.
As of now, neither Centennial nor the Raiders have any future games scheduled.
