Basketball Recap: Eldorado Takes a Loss

Eldorado lost to Sandia back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles received a blow as they fell 66-51 to the Matadors.

Sandia's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malachi Knox, who shot 70% from the field to rack up 17 points and seven rebounds. Knox is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Isaiah Brown was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and ten assists.

Eldorado's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Sandia, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Eldorado is set to challenge their familiar foe Capital at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Sandia will square off against rival Santa Fe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
