Volleyball Recap: Aztec Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Aztec lost against Shiprock on October 14th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers came up short against the Chieftains, falling 3-0.

Aztec was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Shiprock work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 27-25, 25-23.

Riley Yoakum paced Aztec's offense, picking up seven kills. Yoakum were helped by Player #9 and Jazzlyn Gomez, who contributed 20 assists each.

Aztec has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Shiprock, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Aztec is set to take on their familiar foe Kirtland Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Shiprock will face off against rival Gallup at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
