Softball Recap: Madera South Takes a Loss

Madera South managed to slip by Fresno the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Stallions came up short against the Warriors on Wednesday, falling 17-7. The Stallions just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Allie Cervantes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Alondra Ornelas, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Madera South's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Fresno, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-10-1.

Coming up, Madera South will welcome Hoover at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Stallions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Fresno, they will venture away from home to square off against San Joaquin Memorial at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
