Volleyball Recap: Abby Thatcher Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Grantsville

Sky View won the last time they faced Grantsville and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bobcats blew past the Cowboys 3-0. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bobcats as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Sky View not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Grantsville between 17 and 20 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-17, 25-19.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sky View to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abby Thatcher, who had eight digs and three aces. Kinsley Stevens also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Sky View was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Grantsville still got an impressive performance from Avery Merrill, who had 12 digs and two aces. Merrill is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Sky View's record now sits at 6-3. As for Grantsville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Sky View has already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Spanish Fork on the 25th. As for Grantsville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Stansbury on the 26th.
